A WORD FROM THE CREATOR…

Running Star was created from pure blood, sweat and literal tears. This film was all a part of a reoccurring dream that I’ve been having for years. It wouldn’t stop coming up, it never budged or left me alone. I eventually felt it was a divine calling that HAD to be answered, or else. Once the film was shot, I couldn’t find an editor to edit this film the way I saw it in my head, so the film was unedited for the better part of a full year. I eventually sucked it up and decided I had to edit it myself. And this was a time when the only editing software I ever knew was Microsoft Office. — But I did it. I taught myself how to edit for a full year - and completed the film after 18 months. I felt as though I birthed fraternal twins. Two warring sides of myself. The side of crippling fear and doubt that genuinely believed I could never make this happen on my own. And the other side - that dauntless, lionhearted little girl impregnated herself with infinite possibilities, who needed none more than to be manifested into this time & space. Both sides have the same goal - to win. Their coexistence brings unintelligible strength. But in the end, only one can prevail.
